Let’s Get Emotional

We all experience an extremely wide range of emotions in our lives, but how often is this reflected in our improv scenes? This workshop is designed to help you get comfortable exploring and portraying a full spectrum of emotions on stage, and you’ll explore how being emotion-led can help us play fully-rounded characters with relatable motivations and, ultimately, make our improvisation an act of discovery instead of one of pure invention.
This workshop is suitable for experienced improvisers who ever worry that they play “flat” or “one-dimensional” characters, who find their improv scenes frequently become arguments, or who ever blank on what to say or do next.

David Harvey
David first starting improvising and joined the Birmingham Improv Scene about 15 years ago. He performs regularly with Box of Frogs and hosts Birmingham Improv’s monthly Spaghetti Junction show. He manages a technology training academy in his 9-5 and is passionate about helping people get into tech, just like he’s passionate about helping people grow and develop their improvisation skills!
